The Scoop
In 1931, John Perona opened El Morocco at 154 East 54th Street. Beyond its doors: zebra stripes, Schiaparelli cellophane palms, elegant torsos moving beneath a cerulean sky of twinkling lights, and smoke lingering past midnight. 154 recalls that address with a velvety musk and sultry allure, capturing the atmosphere of the original venue and its smoke-tinged late-night ambiance.
The fragrance opens with an intriguing blend of pink pepper, rich brown sugar, cocoa absolute, and dark plum. At its heart, Brazilian gardenia and ylang-ylang essential oil are wrapped in warm, resinous Peru balsam. The scent then settles into a deep, velvety base of olibanum, smoky cypriol, sweet vanilla extract, and structured cedarwood, bound together by heady captive musks that linger on the skin.
