Here's what other people are saying about Annabel's Birthday Cake...
This is the "birthday cake" scent for those that don't want to smell like a pre-teen body mist. I smell buttercream frosting, a hint of lemon and rose, and baby powder. There's something animalic and sexy about it. I do think this is one you have to try a sample of before committing to a full bottle it wasn't at all what I expected when I first tried it. This is also one you have to try on skin as it comes off completely different on the blotter. When I tried it on the blotter at Scent Bar, the helium, plasticky smell came through strong and I was put off. However, when I tried it on my skin I couldn't stop smelling my wrist throughout the day. For me it has great longevity.

I get a 35 year old's birthday where everyone is sad that they're getting old.

This is a very sweet rose scent I would nearly describe as animated. The smell may be too sweet for some (not really for me), but the perfumer hit the nail on the head with that nostalgic party scent. Very middle school birthday parties at Lush-esque with the scent nearly identical to Lush "Rose Jam" shower gel.

I had high expectations for this scent, but unfortunately, it did not live up to them. To me, it reeks of baby powder, musk, and something you would find at a Lush store. Zero vanilla or cake notes. I absolutely will never wear this, and am so disappointed I bought the whole bottle. I will be initiating a return and hoping for the best!

This is one of the most interesting perfumes I’ve ever smelled. It’s sweet, but not cakey. It’s definitely nostalgic. Reminds me of puberty. It’s not a light scent, there’s something feral about it, perhaps the latex?

I'm glad I ordered a sample because I HATED this perfume. It is strong in a nauseating way and unfortunately staied on all day and I was work so I could take it off. More than Birthday Cake smells like a cheap perfume that you find at a flea market. Extremely disappointed!Super fast shipping from this site ) I was happy about it !

I've had this since 222 and it just gets smoother, creamier. Spicy floral tuberose icing on a vanilla sponge cake. Not too sweet and the latex note, almost peppery, which is where I'm getting the spicy from, I guess. It adds just enough interest to the nose, taking it away from toothache territory. The liquid in the bottle initially was clear, it has now deepened to a light golden hue. One word: Luscious.

This surprised me, it’s very pretty. I found myself deeply inhaling this scent.

This was the wild card bonus in my fragrance fitting and became my favorite out of all the samples. It's sweet, vanilla funfetti birthday cake to start, then transformed throughout the day to become more floral with unexpected sweetness and the soft latex scent of blown up balloons. It's a happy, nostalgic, magical, whimsical scent! I'm buying a full bottle to celebrate/commemorate my 35th birthday!

I got a sample of this because someone recommended it to me, but I thought I wouldn’t like it since I don’t usually like sweet gourmand scents, and anything “cake” is usually an immediate no. However, this is so fantastic. I get lots of tropical florals and plastic, but in a great way. Rounded and sweet but not saccharine.

This was a blind buy and my facebook fragrance group talked so much about it - I had to have it. It's sweet but not overly sweet. It's modern but nostalgic. My disappointment is in the sillage. I cannot smell an ounce of this an hour after I put it on.

I normally hate overly food-y smells in my perfumes, but this one I really enjoyed a lot. It's not overwhelming, it's light and airy, warm and comforting. It does bring you back to childhood a bit with that fresh backed smell with something else in it, but nothing in it that is meant for teens or tweens. I love it.

Learned about this delight from the fabulous Emma Vernon (she interviews Annabel herself on an episode of Perfume Room!) and was so excited to see Lucky Scent add it to inventory! This reminds me of all of the best parts of my childhood--cake, friendship, rifling through my mom's makeup and perfume, and scented toys like cupcake and Cherry Merry Muffin dolls. But it also celebrates the journey and reflects the complexities of becoming an adult (having a 4 slice cake sampler delivered for dinner comes to mind). It's soft, cake-y, and inviting. It surprised me at first, and now I reach for it often. The subtle balloon/'doll head' notes really make my heart sing!! Definitely worth sampling--I'll be purchasing a full size bottle ;)
