Cuir de Chine is a beautiful fruity suede fragrance from Les Indemodables. Like all of the fragrances from Les Indemodables, you can really smell the quality of the ingredients in here. It has a beautiful naturalistic osmanthus note that has kind of a tea-like quality. It's a little apricot-y, a little fruity, and it also I think adds to this just gorgeous soft suede note.

This is most leathery to me when I first spray it on skin, but it's never a smoky or rugged leather. It's always very smooth and sophisticated. As it dries, it turns more into a softly fruity floral fragrance. There's a lot of jasmine in here as well. This is just so elegant, it's so refined.

I think even if you don't normally gravitate towards leathery scents, this might be one to check out. It was definitely kind of an unexpected love for me, but I've been wearing it a lot recently.

Nice osmanthus perfume. There's an oud-y and/or sandalwood impression as well. It has a richness without being cloying. Out of all of the perfumes I've sampled from this brand, it's the most naturalistic smelling one to me, and also the most standardly pretty.

SO, there are "clean" scents which are light and nice and not exactly suggestive, and FRESH scents...which are clean but remind you that showers involve "getting naked." "Cuir de Chine" gets fresh. What comes to mind while I smell this is the "first dates with a major crush vibe," the balance of respectful&suggestive. It's like hugging someone who's wearing a new leather jacket and getting butterflies when you catch a whiff of their slightly citrus-y shampoo. Yes, you can absolutely wear this at the office (does anyone go there anymore?) and you will just smell good. But, you can dress it up and honestly wear it anywhere. Well done to Les Indemodables, I am twitterpated.
