Sarah Horowitz-Thran came to perfumery as a college student in Boston, where she worked at a Newbury Street boutique that crafted custom scents for customers. Finding that she had a special talent, she opened her own store in Boston before eventually moving it to Los Angeles, where she now works on her own lines but still offers bespoke fragrances as well.
