Papiers d'Armeni or Armenia Papers are these little pieces of paper coated with a solution made from benzoin resin. These little pieces of paper were really popular in France in the 19th century and are still commonly used. In fact, if you go to any pharmacy or hardware store in France, you can find Papiers d'Armeni.
Now, what you do with these papers is you light them like incense. They're really small, and so you have to fold them up kind of like an accordion so that they stand upright. You light the paper and blow it out, and it burns through like incense. But because they're small pieces of paper, it all happens very quickly, and it'll fill your space with this warm aromatic sweet smoke which is really great and just a quick and easy way to scent a space like a bathroom or your living room. The effect that I get is it brings me back to being a kid when I'd have to rake leaves. And during the autumn, it's that very particular smell of just colorful leaves that have fallen to the ground, very natural. But then, over all of this, is this comforting warmth which is from the benzoin.
And this is almost
