Luckyscent Videos: Noteworthy - Black Pepper

One of my favorite notes is Blackpepper. I'm always drawn to fragrances that feature it. There's something about that piquant, sometimes fruity, sometimes pungent quality that I feel pairs well especially with incense, woods, and patchouli. Here are some of my favorite fragrances to feature Blackpepper.

Blackpepper from Comme des Garcons is the real deal. This smells like freshly milled black peppercorns. It's so spicy, peppery. I love this. And in the heart, you get something a little bit sweet and woodsy like a caramelized cedar.

Une Poivre by Obvious is a lighter approach to Blackpepper. In this case, it's brightened with ginger and there's a nice soft violet to soften all the edges. This is a little bit more transparent and I particularly like to wear this as a layering scent with either woods or incense perfume.

I've been wearing Une Amorette from Etalie de Ronde for years now. This is such a compelling fragrance. Of course, you get that hit of Blackpepper, but then what happens is jasmine starts to come through, a touch of leather and patchouli in the base. I consider this to be my going out scent. It always gets compliments.

Amduquere from Miqui de Maginiere means soul of the heart. This is a very romantic fragrance and in the heart of it, you get a baked apple. But what gives it so much energy and excitement is the Blackpepper. This fragrance doesn't particularly list incense, but for me, it's a very incense fragrance. Maybe it's something about that Akigala wood with the Blackpepper that's creating that effect.
