Luckyscent Videos: Anthologie de Grands Crus - Vanille d'Amine

This fragrance Vanille d'Amine from Anthologie de Grands Crus really changed my idea of what vanilla fragrances were all about. I just assumed most vanillas are confectionery yummy gourmands. They smell like cakes or cupcakes, whatever, and most of them are like that, and that's why they're so wonderful. But this is so different. It really reinterprets vanilla.

Part of the reason is maybe the extraction method used to get the scent from vanilla pods. In this case, they're using an oleoresin extraction method, which is a more modern extraction method and brings out different notes like the plum and dark chocolate. But what I really love about the scent is the clove, this wonderful spiky clove along with Somalian incense.

So the whole effect is kind of bright, spicy, and interesting, not so gourmand. And this is definitely so pleasing and is keeping me guessing about vanilla. I love it.
