Hi, I'm Steve from Scentbar. What I'm wearing these days is Une Amourette. This is a collaboration between fashion designer Roland Mouret and perfume brand Etat Libre d'Orange. You might be familiar with Etat Libre's more edgy fragrances. They're kind of out there perfumes that test our notion of what perfumery is in general. But in this case Une Amourette is more reserved. In fact I would classify it as a classic woodsy oriental.

When I first spray it I get this nice blast of cracked black pepper. And it's sweetened with a little bit of jasmine and neroli. Iris is one of the main notes but it's an earthy iris. Even a soft leather iris I'd say. It's not that lipstick or powder puff iris by any means. These notes just combine over this nice layer of a woodsy patchouli.

The inspiration behind Une Amourette was to create a fragrance that layers on your skin the way that Roland Mouret drapes fabric over the body when he creates his fashion designs. And when I wear it I feel like I do get this understated just soft layer of elegance. A lot to say for a fragrance. It's unisex for sure. It's great for any man or woman who just want that refined layer of elegance and who doesn't.
