  • First fragrance
  • I don't remember the first. It was Russian. There was also a popular Polish fragrance at the time that came in a little drugstore bottle. It was called Byc Moze, or 'Maybe' in English. I remember a Latvian brand too named Dzintars that made some nice fragrances. The first French fragrance I ever owned was Climat by Lancôme. It was very big in Moscow along with Magie Noire.
  • Favorite smells (not perfume)
  • Rain; young leaves, particularly the young sticky leaves of the poplar tree which we rarely get here in California; pine forests, especially the pine needles under foot; the ocean; linden trees in blossom.
  • Interests beside fragrance
  • Cinema, fine art, music (classical and jazz), literature, travel, architecture..
