Here's what other people are saying about Oliban...
This smelled very similar to me to Serge Lutens's Santal Blanc, although they don't have any notes in common beyond a not-so-prominent rose. It's sweet without any sugar, warm without any fire, yummy with something I-don't-know-what in the middle. To me the rose did not stand out much but I'm also a big fan of rose perfumes so maybe I just don't notice the note as much...

For me this is all about honey and rose. I get very little woodiness. There is tobacco but not in a literal sense, more of a sweet pipe tobacco. I like it but thought it would be the opposite in terms of scent, more wood less rose.

A spectacular cult worthy composition. One of the most natural smelling roses blended in the most superb fashion with frankincense, slightly smokey ceder, sweet tabacco, and rosewood while the tonka and amber gris seem to sit in the back and keep everything in order. I must sample the rest of this line. Back up bottle worthy! An absolute must have for female and male incense fanatics alike. Keiko Mecheri deserves a standing ovation for this masterpiece!

I love this fragrance. It's like Homme Sage by Divine with a touch more sparkle. Great.

Warm, lovely moody romantic incense rose... it can be a little strong at first so I don't wear it every day but it's perfect for a special occasion. I wore it for my wedding, so if that's not a vote of approval I don't know what is!

I bought this blind after reading the notes. Indeed it is strong. It is slightly sweet, more than I was expecting. The one great thing about this scent is that it actually smells natural. The problem with the incense range from comme des garçon was that it tended to smell a little too synthetic and plastic. No such thing here.
