Le Messager by Courreges is a beautiful vanilla that's kind of unlike any other that I've smelled before. It has a distinctive ink note that honestly smells a little bit like Sharpie. So if you're into that kind of thing, and I know a lot of people are, then you should check this out. There's also something kind of industrial that gives it this auto shop garage kind of fragrance, which I'm really drawn to.

It then dries down into this beautiful ambery vanilla cocoon that's entirely unisex and not gourmand. If you don't want to smell like dessert vanilla, this is kind of more in line with what you're looking for. And like all of the other Courreges, it has this beautiful ambroxan base note, which it dries down to. It's kind of their signature.

If you like molecule O2, then you love ambroxan. So if any of that sounds appealing to you, you have to check out Le Messager by Courreges.

On my journey to find my scent collection and did this one on a whim. The ink made me curious. I'm on my second day of sampling and I think this one is a true winner. I'm a writer, and this just feels so... authentic. I have a hard time with things that feel synthetic or over the top, and this almost feels cozy. If it's any help, I'm typically a subtle gourmand, skin scents, citrus, and fresh.I get sweet ink at the beginning, you know that moment you touched a ballpoint pen to your tongue? But it's only the best parts of that. A bit metallic and foreign - but exciting. It dries down softly sweet for me, with a hint of ink at the edges, a little smear of ink from writing in your journal or slipping into the world you created in your head

This is definitely a unique and strange one. I ordered a sample thinking it could be a cousin to my favorite, the now discontinued Tom Ford Metallique, but they are completely different. The vanilla is too sweet and gourmand for me. The ink note, however, is new and works well on my skin. I don’t get bergamot or citrus at all.
