Here's what other people are saying about Not Vanilla...

This is a pleasant vanilla, but very light. It has sort of a powdery hint to it on my skin. I usually bring out any sugar, vanilla, sweet marshmallow type notes in perfumes with my body chemistry. Under the powdery sweet layer, there is a little bit of dark complexity below the surface. But in comparison to the top note, which is stronger, the musky darkness is much more faint. I think it is enjoyable, but I do think it could use a little extra nuance and have a bit more throw to it. I'm uncertain of its staying power because I've only just put it on 30 minutes ago.

This smells great! I really like it BUT it’s a bit generic imo so I’m taking off one star. It does however make an incredible layering scent so I will definitely be purchasing a full size. My favorite rn is to mix it with Beach Geeza Bay Rum. So good!

Very much agree with "skin scent but with a bit more oomph". I get a creamy, soft vanilla most prominently, followed by a flowery musk, and amber warmth. Leans more feminine to me, but it's such an alluring scent I'm gonna have to add this to my wishlist. Liked this a lot more than "Hinoki Shower" but nevertheless, impressed by this fragrance house so far!

I am a vanilla-obsessive, so was really looking forward to this cheekily-named Not Vanilla (realizing that vanilla is the fifth note listed). BUT I am sad to say that while it goes on sweet and pretty, within less than ten minutes I began to smell like a slightly sweet version of the entire Macy's perfume department. You know the smell—a messy cacophony of busy smells. So far as I've worked my way through the BTSO sample set, I have not found a keeper. Fortunately, none of them have had a lot of staying power, so I can scrub it off quite easily.
