The slap of a wood bat on a leather ball, followed by intense giggling and the sound of fabric rustling. It's five o'clock at Biba in London and Jim Morrison is leading a young Debbie Harry astray with a Long Island iced tea and a game of cricket in the stockroom. Can you smell all the possibilities that are curled into a trippy London afternoon in the Seventies? They certainly could.
What We Think
In a daze from beginning to end, London Funk captures the hazy, playful atmosphere of the 1970's. A bright and sunny opening of bergamot and juniper quickly descends into smoky, earthy, and dirty herbal notes, revealing a cloud of vetiver and yerba mate, with tinges of marijuana and driftwood. A darkly woody finish of sandalwood and cedarwood mellow out the composition, giving the distinctly chic wearability and depth that Vilhelm is known for.
