This is Mandodari from PRIN. It's named after a character in a Sanskrit epic poem, and she is a queen consort who's wronged by her husband and gods.

So what does she smell like? This is talked about as an aldehylic floral fragrance, and sure enough, I get a really fantastic jasmine in the scent, but I wouldn't classify Mandodari as a floral perfume per se. In fact, I would classify this as an old-school vintage chypre. Maybe it's that oak moss in the base with a touch of civet. Really elegant, really complex and beautiful.

I like the way that it balances that nice touch of floral with something so earthy and grounded. If you're a fan of, let's say, Fumabot from Couteau de Poche and you love that smoky oak moss in the base, you're gonna get something like that in this fragrance. I love it. It's definitely my style, and I hope you love it, too.

Wow! What an opening! When that fresh champaca, and sweet frangipani hits you! This is a true Indian men's fragrance. Some guys will like this, some will not. If you really want to set yourself apart, then this is the fragrance. Then somewhere in the middle comes the florals, black pepper and tobacco- man o man! What a unique turn of scents this takes! Never have I been on a fragrance ride like this one. 5-7 hours on the skin easily, and for $130, it is worth the money.

Wow, O Wow! What an opening! Totally insane, it hits you all at once, but finally settles down to some great florals. Projection is strong, so don't do so many sprays...3 should do it, no more. Guys, the women are gonna love the animalistic bent to this with the civet, and oh yes, that coffee and black pepper that comes thru.
