I got a sample size of this perfume based on Rachel Syme's Perfume Genie twitter thread and I am OBSESSED. I've been wearing it nonstop for the past few days and I can't stop bringing my wrists to my nose to smell it. I'm no scent expert since I generally dislike the perfumes I've experienced in the wild, but I can't get enough of this spicy, warm fragrance. I'm definitely saving up for a fullsize bottle.

I was recommended to try this by an instagram follower after seeing the fragrances I wear already. At first I really liked this and it is fairly strong and lasting. After wearing for a couple of hours though there was a note coming through that I didn't like, it was an acidic sicky smell that I kept picking up on that maybe was brought out by my skin and for this I couldn't wear it. I would recommend trying a sample of it though and hope you don't have the same experience I did because otherwise this is a very nice fragrance.

I love how Perris Monte Carlo seems to accomplish something unexpected with very commonly found notes in its fragrances. With Bois D'Oud, I was a little apprehensive, because the list of notes reminded me of fragrances that often seem cloying to me. It turned out to be quite and enjoyable experience. The fruit and vanilla really shine through the top and middle without being too sweet. When it settles down into a woody floral, it is the patchouli that I perceive most. I do think this is "safe for work" after the drydown, as it stays fairly close to the skin, even on a warm summer day. Perhaps it is a bit on the femme side, but I would encourage anyone who is intrigued to sample it.
