Perfumer Bruno Fazzolari, or his brand Fzotic, has this incredible, unique, and really interesting scent called Corpse Reviver. This is actually a reinterpretation of a scent that he created years ago with another perfumer, where they sort of added different ingredients and came up with this really fun exquisite cadaver fragrance.

So this is the new interpretation, and what he did is he added a few more interesting notes. There's like a whiskey accord here; it's kind of boozy and deep. He added some French oak absolute, so there's this kind of syrupy, resinous kind of quality to this. It's gourmand, but then it isn't. There's some funk in here, some depth. It kind of has this animalic growl in the base.

It's so unique. I cannot keep saying that because it's just amazing. You should really try this if you're looking for something challenging and yet wearable and really fun. Check it out: Corpse Reviver.

I attended a party once where Corpse Reviver was served - it’s a sparkling and deceptively strong drink that ultimately led to a backyard gate left open with disastrous consequences. I was hoping for a strongly scented and sparkling fragrance, but what I got instead was the corpse without being revived. If you like it, the plus is that it appears to be long-lasting. If you don’t, plan to be around soap to wash it off!

Oh no. I love Fzotic as a perfumer, they are a wonderful individual however, this scent gave me a 2-day migraine. I only got a sample and it was POWERFUL, but the notes really disturbed me. I can understand how this can definitely be a scent for others but I have never had a scent make me so ill. :'( I am assuming it was most likely the anise as it's very similar to licorice and that's all I could smell for hours lol. Excellent longevity! Just not for me, sorry Fzotic.

Morning breakfast at a diner. Chocolate Chip pancakes a ton of syrup and for more dessert a fresh homemade Cinnamon roll.

I understand the "Corpse" notion of the scent; a surprising dry down of strange, dead, disjointed and decomposed ideas. Unfortunately, I'm missing the "Reviver" notion as nothing seems to unite any of these things into any cohesive, beautiful fragrance. I kept smelling my wrist; but I seemed to be the only one who found it more amusing than repulsive. More like a boozey chocolate cake that was thrown into one of those Odor Shield trash bags, really. Possibly suitable for some sort of loud, goth nightclub that opens at Midnight?

Freakish, in a fun way. Very “Monster Mash.” Chocolate and booze. The camphor and other notes make it “scary” but very intriguing. Smells like wealthy eccentrics who may or may not have a dead body in the basement. Good for Halloween. Not for the timid.
