Here's what other people are saying about Vanille Divine des Tropiques...
Not for me. I get a big hit of tuberose and gardenia at first, but it fades very quickly into a cloying vanilla. Very sweet!

It's OK... not bad....light... and a faint scent of gardenia and others... not a fav of mine.

A lovely floral vanilla with tuberose dominant, & gardenia bubbling up from underneath. It becomes sweeter & more toffee-like in the drydown, but fades far too fast on me, it's barely there after an hour. Of the two I've tried from La Maison, the Noire du Mexique wins hands down.

Absolutely LOVE this! So yummy, I could almost drink it. I bought this and Vanille Givree from Sephora, for $5 each. So glad I did. Look at the prices now!

The bottles from sephora have and an exp date for sept 08. Read your bottles and if you go to the the La Maison de la Vanille website you will notice that they have new bottles. That is probably why Sephora had the mark down. To play it safe I would ask any etailer if you will be receiving the new bottle. Who wants a nearly exp fragrance anyway? I am a fan of all their fragrances Tahiti is my favorite and if I had to do without one it would be Antilles. If anyone knows if there has been a reformulation, please let us know.

Delicious - sweet - comforting. Just recently re-discovered this in my vast collection today. Not something to wear when you want to feel sexy. For the price, and if you like vanilla, a sure thing.

I like this very much. The initial spray is really dazzling and beautiful. I have only 2 complaints (both are excuseable because of the reasonable price): 1. The vanilla drydown smells like cheap vanilla extract 2. It does not last very long. For the price, though--I don't mind refreshing throughout the day.

Not my fave of the 5 Vanillas of the World, however, not awful. I gave it to my neice for her fourteenth birthday. Floral and sweet.

This is one of the best smells I've ever smelled-It is exactly what you want the air to smell like on those tropical vacations. It really takes you to another place. I especially love putting it on when I've been in the sun all day!!!

The tuberose and gardenia make Tropiques much too sweet for my taste. I don't smell much vanilla, but there is a sugary element to this scent. I think this would be perfect for gardenia lovers who want to try something a little more mysterious and exotic--however, for vanilla devotees like me, this was not a good choice. Try Mexique (my favorite Maison), Tahiti, or one of the Comptoirs.

I really wanted to love this one....I love sweet scents(PINK SUGAR) this was just toooo artificial & cloying. I bought the sample package & this is one is my least favorite.
By  on 2/7/2006
its was was just a plain initial vanilla smell, then something like a stange whiff of 'rubber'? then magnolia or jasmine...not spunky enough..i guess its soft and floral but nothing was like a blah version of aqualina's Pink Sugar..try the samples first.

smells good but is too light for me,really can not smell it on me,but it is lovley,i like the other la maison vanilles better.

Tropiques never fails to lift my spirit. I love it in any season and it is appropriate for day and night wear. It smells like a Hawaiian lei soaked in warm vanilla.

The best from this line. Creamy and dreamy! Luscious floral and creamy vanilla. My Holy Grail vanilla.
By   - from The OC on 8/6/2005
Gorgeous! Divine! When I first put it on this morning all I could smell was vanilla, but it has evolves into a beautiful warm floral nestled in vanilla. Yummy soothing and sexy

I'm not real big on stronge smells and was afraid Vanille would be too much for me but this was perfect. I get loads of compliments.

Very girly and pink but sophisticated enough for a grown-up, this is not my fave from the line but it's still bottleworthy (price helps). Love this line!
By   - from NYC on 5/25/2005
This scent reminds me of sitting on a beach with a big tropical flower behind my ear and a day-glo frozen drink with an umbrella in my hand (in a good way). My daughter says I smell like "tangerine ice cream." That's a compliment.

So yum! It smells like it has pink bubble gum mixed in with vanilla!
By  on 2/25/2005
I think this is the best of the La Maison line. I tried Tahiti and my chemistry tweaked it into something tangy and unpleasant, but OH how good is Tropiques! It is a sweet but never cloying bouncy vanilla. It also lasted the entire day- big plus. It is a foody scent, but a nice complex one. Sweet, sexy and vibrant- I'm in lurve!

This is not at all something I would like to smell like. i like sweet fragrances but this was overboard.

Tahiti and Mexique are much better and Madagascar is a lovely change of pace.

This blend is the best in the La Maison line, and my absolute favorite. I'm not normally a floral fan, but the flowers here entwine so beautifully with the vanilla, resulting in the most elegant gourmand scent I've tried. The aldehyde adds extra sparkle. Really, this scent is the one that deserves to be the star of this collection.

This scent is incredible. A first it was flowery, but then it became very vanilla. One of my co-workers got hungry for vanilla cookies after standing next to me, but small price to pay for this gorgeous scent. Tahiti is not the only foodie scent in this line.

I got this as a sample with my Tahiti order. At first, I was not all that impressed. Now I am in love with it! It is light and flowery at first but then dries down to a yummy vanilla. I am not a big fan of gardenia or jasmine because it is usually overpowering. This is just lovely. I feel gorgeous when I wear it!
By   - Securities Analyst from Jacksonville, FL on 7/5/2004
I'm not a huge vanilla fan, but would wear this scent every day. It's vanilla, and it's floral but not "flowery" or "cake-y". And, at least on me, there's a sexy earthy-ness to it.

I usually can't stand when a perfume has notes of jasmine or gardenia, but this scent is absolutely exquisite. I can't stop smelling my wrist. What a lovely floral and vanilla combination. At certain moments it smells just like plumeria.

ew. ew. ew. ew. ew. i don't know WHAT is wrong with my body chemistry, but this smells like a pixie stick. no vanilla, no floral, just candy candy candy.
By  on 5/29/2004
I smell no tuberose at all and thought they switched the labels by accident. Maybe it sat too long?
By   - from Palo Alto on 5/14/2004
I agree with other posters . . . for me this is a light, airy and lovely combination of floral and vanilla.
By  on 5/13/2004
After reading all the comments I figured I couldn't go wrong--while this fragrance smells nice initially, after awhile it started smelling like gasoline on me...the jasmine/tuberose just completely turned. I'd suggest getting a sample or trying it on before buying.

This is the most divine vanilla scent - my favorite - I love vanilla - adding the floral complements it fabulously - LuckyScent described it perfectly.

The combination of jasmine and vanilla reminds me of Chantecaille Frangipagne. This is much more affordable and I like it better. I love the powdery white floral feel of this vanillic fragrance--it's not overly syrupy so I don't tire of it quickly. Vanille Divines des Tropiques is the softest interpretation of vanilla I've known and I love it.

I love all the sweet vanilla scents out there, but was looking for something different. This is perfect! It's still the vanilla I go crazy for, but with floral notes. I can't stop smelling my wrist when I'm wearing this! Thank you Lucky Scent for bringing La Maison de la Vanille perfumes into my life!
By  on 12/5/2003
Gotta rave about this one! There's a lot of vanilla/gardenia scents out there, but this one is nicer than some that are twice the price. The other flowers give it an especially light and feminine feel.
