Luckyscent Videos: Spiky Muse - Ex Nihilo

Here I have Spiky Muse, which is the latest release from Ex Nihilo. This is a rose fragrance that was made by perfumer Louise Turner. She also made one of the brand's other most popular fragrances, Lust in Paradise.

Spiky Muse and Lust in Paradise actually share quite a lot of similarities. They're both kind of delicate, dewy rose fragrances. Lust in Paradise is also known for its prominent peony note which I don't detect in Spiky Muse, but I would say the overall quality of the two fragrances is pretty similar. They have that ethereal, feminine, delicate quality with sparkling fruit and that classic bright modern kind of woody base that has become a signature of Ex Nihilo's fragrances, I would say.

I think where the two fragrances diverge a bit is that, to me, Spiky Muse is a little bit fruitier. It has a bright ripe strawberry note at the top and it starts out kind of tart and mouth-watering and it becomes a little sweeter as it dries.
