Luckyscent Videos: Strawberry Mochi - d'Annam

This is the latest release from d'Annam's Memories of Japan line and it's called Strawberry Mochi. It is a very realistic strawberry mochi fragrance. In case you don't know, mochi is made of pounded glutinous rice. It has a really kind of sticky, chewy texture. It's so, so satisfying to eat.

In this case, it's referring to a Japanese dessert that's a little mochi confectionary filled with a fresh strawberry and a little bit of red bean paste and then covered in a softly sweet powder. This fragrance just captures that experience so beautifully and accurately.

When you first spray it, you're met with that soft kind of dreamy powder and then you really get that realistic chewy rice that I think d'Annam has captured so beautifully in a few of their fragrances. And then as it dries, that's when you get a little bit of the sweet kind of powdery red bean paste with the fresh watery strawberry. It's such an interesting contrast in textures and it's just beautifully done.

It's really wearable like a lot of the d'Annam gourmands in particular. It's kind of understated. It's not overly sweet. It's honestly a little bit savory with that kind of like nutty, realistic rice accord. It's just so cozy and clean. I feel so pretty when I wear this. I just absolutely love it.
