Noteworthy - Mint

Mint is one of my favorite notes in perfumery. I can understand how someone who's new to mint fragrances would be a little bit nervous that it would give an impression of toothpaste or even mouthwash. But that's not really the case. What I find is mint just gives a beautiful exhilarating herbal sparkle to a scent.

So a wonderful example of that would be Torino21 from Xerjoff. It's like smelling sunlight coming through clouds. It is so bright and beautiful. Mint is combined with citrus and jasmine and black currant. And it stays very exhilarating the whole time you have it on your skin.

In Cologne No. 2 from Alguien, you begin with literal mint leaves. I feel like I'm ripping up these leaves in my hands and just getting that wonderful essence. It goes into a classical fougere structure with that beautiful lavender coming through. This smells very gentlemanly to me. And I actually think it's wonderful on women as well.

Cinzia from Naughton & Wilson starts off with this wonderful mint that lifts the whole scent. And then it dries down to a very classical fougere. It actually gives me a bit of an 80's masculine vibe.

You are someone like You from Etallibre du Rhone, which is actually one of our most popular fragrances to feature mint. And this one is inspired by a book and a scene where people are having mojitos on a terrace in Los Angeles. And you really get that scent. I can feel the mint leaves and chewing on them and ice cubes and even the feel of sugar crystals between my teeth. It is so bright and effervescent and it stays that way.

This is one of my favorites to layer with other fragrances as well. It just gives everything a bright lift.
