One of my favorite sweeter fragrances is Morn To Dusk by Eau d'Italie. This brand is based in Positano, Italy and they describe this perfume as walking out into Positano in the morning just feeling that warm sunshine cut through a cool morning air.

The sunshine comes through as a bergamot citrus. It's just this golden beautiful sweet and bright fruit and it combines with these spring florals namely Lily of the Valley and Freesia. Together they combine but they're really playing backup to the main player, the main story that this perfume is telling is the vanilla.

In fact I would describe this perfume as a vanilla scent but it's definitely more nuanced and subtle than most vanilla perfumes. It's just so soft and gauzy. The overall effect is just pure softness. I almost think of it as taking a marshmallow and just dabbing it on your skin. It has that kind of a feeling. It's for when you want to just be kissed with sweetness rather than announce a big gourmand statement if you will.

The perfumer who designed it is Anique Minardo. She's one of my favorite perfumers because everything she does is elegant and so easy to wear and this is no different. It's so easy you just put it on and you're just surrounded by this soft cloud of sweetness. It's never loud but it just does stay with you in a really beautiful elegant way.

Like most vanilla fragrances I'd say it veers more feminine than masculine but because it is more subtle and multi-layered there's no reason why a guy couldn't try this because it might work. You never know. Highly recommended, Mourned to Dusk by O.D. Tilly.
