Often when I'm asked to find a fragrance that really captures the essence of wood, I grab this bottle. This is Arso from Profumum. Arso is Italian for cinders. You're supposed to think about wood smoke and ashes. And sure, you do get a little trail of smoke in the background, but it's not the smokiest thing I've ever smelled. In fact, I can think of a few fragrances that are much more campfire smoke, but it is there for sure. And it's definitely part of the character of the scent.
What I love about Arso is how it really presents a pure wood smell. When I smell it, it feels like I'm chopping logs and you're just getting this whiff of freshly split pine. It's really kind of incredible. I love it. As is Profumum, it lasts forever. It's one of those fragrances that even after I shower, I still get whiffs of Arso, but not in a hard to manage kind of a way. I actually really enjoy the level the entire time I'm wearing the scent.
I assumed at first that it was definitely more masculine and would appeal more to men, but I've been showing this to a lot of women over the years, and a lot of women have really gravitated towards it and love to wear it. In fact, one woman who wears it actually asked me, wait, do you think a man could wear this too? I thought that was kind of funny. It's beautiful. It's definitely like a walk in the woods on an autumn day, like a crisp, cold autumn day.
I've been told by some people that they detect a little bit of a leather. Think of smoky leather, maybe old leather furniture inside a log cabin. This is definitely evocative. Check it out. I love this scent so much. Arso from Profumum.
