Corpus Equus. This is from Naomi Goodsir. The name means body of a horse. Now, I don't really think it smells like an actual horse per se. It doesn't smell like walking past a stable to me, but you do get that dry saddle leather. If you're a fan of the traditional Spanish leather fragrances from Santa Maria Novella or any other old school perfumery, you'll know what I'm talking about.

If you're on the road by Timothy Hahn, you'll get an approximation of where this fragrance is going. There's a little bit of smokiness, so if you're a fan of Bois D'Aces from Naomi Goodsir, it's definitely something to check out. Now, I read in the description that there are some floral notes, and although by no means would I ever call this a floral scent, I do get a little touch of fresh air, almost like a horse wandering freely in the pasture among flowers blooming.

This is something special.

Whoa! This is very leathery and I don't think many people can pull this one off but there is a scent out there for every type of chemistry. I tested my sample on my wrist and at first sniff I wanted to wash it off but to be fair to rate a scent, it has to develop. My initial thoughts were of a cologne wearing cowboy, working in a stable. The horsehair dissipated within the first 15 minutes, along with the ashtray scent and now an hour later has turned into something I would describe as walking into a lounge bar, sipping on cognac, while relaxing on fresh leather and the surrounding area smell is mixed with a hint of my floral perfume. Not bad if you can wait til the scent fully develops. Just not my cup of tea for fragrance.
