I've got Summer of 84 by Kerosene here. I love fragrances that really dip into nostalgia. Let's start with the name Summer of 84. It's really great. Paint such a specific picture.

So I was reading about this fragrance and the perfumer John Pegg was inspired by things like popsicle wrappers, grapefruit soda with ice and sliced melons. It's really fantastic. This kind of young, innocent childhood summer.

When I first spray it, it's very fizzy. You get that grapefruit. I actually think it's kind of like peeling oranges as well. And then as it settles in, it's less fizzy, but the sweetness and the fruitiness remain and I'm getting almost like a fantastic lemon lifesaver moment. This is so much fun.

It's summertime right now. I plan on wearing this fragrance, but this is great all year round. Summer of 84.

The first hit is a fresh grapefruit, but about 30 minutes later, the musk and melon smell come through and the grapefruit becomes more faint.

There’s just something about this little baby… It has a cool factor. The name, the bottle, the smell, everything about it just reeks of cool memories.

I bought this as a sample because I was looking for a nice citrus fragrance. I immediately smelled fresh grapefruit. It smells like when you are freshly squeezing a ripe grapefruit. Over time, it mellows down to more of a melon scent with undertones of grapefruit. It is a very fresh uplifting scent that would be perfect for the summer. I asked a friend who usually hates perfumes of any kind, and she said that this one was not offensive at all because it smelled so real to her. I ordered a full bottle afterwards.

I bought a sample of this and I was surprised I really liked it. The opening is very citrus, which I usually don’t like citrus scents, but then you get the melon scent which was very pleasant, and crisp. This will be my next buy. I wore it, and got many compliments!
