The Liwa oasis is a lush valley of date palm farms and Bedouin villages in the middle of a seemingly endless sea of sand. Its improbable beauty is the inspiration behind Widian's newest fragrance, a gorgeous blend of stylish florals with exotic spice.

Liwa evokes the oasis with lush jasmine, creamy amber, and sandalwood surrounded by dry saffron, wafting smoke and a powdery patchouli and vetiver base. It's a perfectly balanced combination of heady powdery spice and smoke with creamy sweet white florals and ambers. Like its namesake, Liwa is a hidden treasure, waiting to be discovered.

I can't imagine anyone giving this a 5 star review. While it's not horrible, in a blind test of this sample, I might have guessed it was any of a number of Swiss Arabian fragrances. Might as well be Avon. The underlying scent in this fragrance, under the cotton candy sweetness, is an unpleasant carrier. The high price is a mystery. Definitely get a sample before spending so much money. To me, it smells like a drugstore knock-off version of 'Carved Oud.' But I love Carved Oud.

In the opening it smells just like MFK BR540, but luckily that is very short lived and settles into this warm, smooth, sophisticated, non churchy incense. Gonna order a full bottle soon.

This fragrance is pretty close to Limited 71, but it has a slight difference in ingredients. Nevertheless, it smells absolutely amazing. I debated back and forth about purchasing a full bottle because of course it’s a bit pricey, but I think it’s full bottle worthy.
