The perfume mavens at LuckyScent put this sample in a recent order. On first sniff, I thought, "Nice, vanilla." I forgot about it. I picked in up again in warmer weather and dabbed on. WOW this stuff is delicious. The florality of the opening tempers the vanilla. It's sweet in a floral way, just on the edge of gormand. If you are kinda of gormand shy or even skeptical of yellow florals, the two balance each other out here and turn into a slightly indolic hypnotic thing, with a warm botanical vanilla drydown. I'm glad I gave this another try. I ended up getting a full bottle and even in hot weather it's not too much. Comforting, realistic vanilla pod without the candle store vibes I get from Jousset Accidente la Vanille.

This is too cloying for me because of the flowers at the opening. Reads sour to me. Someone on Fragrantica said it was gloomy and I agree... For a delectable assortment of vanillas, my go-to brand is La Maison de la Vanille.

I didn’t like this when I first sprayed it. The Absolute Ylang-ylang was overpowering everything. I mean absolutely everything, no pun intended. But give it an hour, and it smells so good. I the vanilla finally come out with the amber and sandalwood. Creating this really expensive experience. But you should definitely sample, because I don’t think this would be a good blind buy. Especially since you can’t return it.
