Here's what other people are saying about Gardenia...
This is my all-time favorite perfume. It's a lush, round, sexy, elegant, white floral. To me, it doesn't smell like a gardenia, but it's lovely none the less. I wear this more than any other fragrance. It's lasts a long time on me. I can still smell it on my coat several days wearing it. I agree this is more suited to a mature woman. Can't see a 20 year pulling this off, but disagree with some reviewers who said it smelled like an old lady perfume. This is a very sexy perfume! I always keep a backup bottle. When I open the backup, I immediately order another. Love, love, love it.

Light, pleasant floral but didn't last long at all for me.

This is a very pretty white floral. I read so many reviews about how strong and how headache-inducing this was, that I put off sampling this for quite a while... but how wrong they all were! This is extremely light and subtle. It smells almost life-like, as if you were sniffing the flower itself father than a perfume. There is a gentle sweetness to it, which I'm usually not a fan of, but in this it's pleasant. Sillage is light and longevity is moderate at best, but I think that's what makes this so special -- it's rare to find such a quiet and gentle white floral. Honestly, I can't imagine anyone disliking this!

I love this scent. It's what a lady should wear. It's so floral, so round and harmonious, so creamy. I find it's vintage full-bodied, like really racy as if I was back in the twenties of last century in a Gatsby party. Love it and will own it, but can't wear it that often. It's really a mature scent, not for the office.

Mixes well with my chemistry. the deep, sweet scent of gardenia, wrapped in a subtle cloud of citrus. though, it didn't last long on me.

I soooooooo wanted to love this, even if for the bottle alone (it looks so lush and expensive!). When I first smelled my tester I was over the moon - it smells like a big, beautiful, somewhat clean bouquet of white flowers with a gorgeous gardenia sitting somewhere in the middle. BUT...then I put it on my skin. OH MY. It turned from a big beautiful bouquet of flowers to a somewhat acrid, rotting tangerine! All that comes through on me is the orange blossom and an awful bitter tangerine - something reminiscent of the white pith of a citrus fruit that makes your face scrunch up in displeasure. A real shame. Oh well, I'm going to give Fleur Nocturne a try as it sounds similarly unctuous to Gardenia - but hopefully without the awful bitterness that the citrus notes leave on my skin. I was really looking forward to enjoying a rich, creamy, white floral but alas this is not the one for me. I'm sure Gardenia is an absolute joy on some people's skin - but it's a car crash on mine :(

Pretty, soapy, lush and sweet. But not Gardenia. If you know what a real Gardenia smells like and are looking for that fragrance in a bottle, keep looking. However if you like the perfume world's version of the Gardenia's scent and Van Cleef & Arpels' "Gardenia Petales" is a little too pricey, try Isabey Gardenia.

This is a beautiful fragrance, but I have tried it on a few times and it only lasts 20 to 30 minutes on me. Then it's completely gone! I have never had this happen before with any scent. Sad.

Not gardenia, but a beautiful, floral, whole, pleasant, warm, friendly, long lasting, quiet waft of loveliness. Will keep searching for true gardenia.

This definitely is not a 'whole' gardenia fragrance...While it is a wonderful fragrance, it reminds me somewhat of Dior's Poison.

Love this! Yes, not a "real" gardenia but for me that is OK-- I get headaches from most of the gardenia scents. On me it turns buttery, vanilla- floral. Many compliments from strange ( not weird) men.Oh, and the bottle is fantastic and keeps the fragrance fresh since it doesn't let light in like most bottles!

If you are looking for a true gardenia scent, keep on searching. This is a very pretty floral scent, but not gardenia per se. It also is more of a scent for a mature, adult woman. NOT in a negative way. It is just complex. I could not see a 20-something getting away with it. That said, it is a very beautiful floral scent. Just try before you buy if you are expecting gardenia. Honestly i have never found a "true" gardenia scent in a perfume. ShiKai lotion at Whole Foods smells like a true gardenia. In a scent though, no luck.

l so wanted to like this, having read that it's "the Rembrandt of gardenia fragrances", & being on a quest for the perfect gardenia, but it's not at all what l hoped for. lnitially l get a whole bunch of different flowers, warm & slightly spicy, & l anticipated a nicely layered dry down. l can pick out orange blossom & lilac, but unfortunately on me it faded into a very powdery, flat & old fashioned scent with zero sillage. Maybe it's just me, l can't stand powdery frags!

After sampling dozens, among dozens of unique fragrances..it reminds me of anything from the chanel line,it is very old school perfume,I ended up giving this bottle to a women at a nursing home, who said it reminded her of her mothers perfume, back in the 1930s.. it made her cry, when she smelled this...

I smelled like the bottom of an old lady's purse. This was sooo strong I instantly had a headache and forced myself to wait for the dry down. 4 hours and 3 scrubbings later; it melted into my coconut soap and almost smelled nice. Terrible.

I am also, like a few others am new to the scent of gardenia,I usually steer away from what I call pretentious, perfumy fragrances I have spent a ton a unique, hard to find scents, and BABY! I have finally found a BEAUTIFUL,lovely worth every dollar fragrance!!! I LOVE this perfume! it really surprised me how differnt from other 'commercial' (CHANEL) fragrances this wears. 10 stars!

This is a very pretty gardenia blend, but I've been slathering it on for a few minutes (using half the sample vial) and I can hardly smell it. If I was to spend this much on a perfume, I would want it to be about twice as concentrated. That said, it is a lovely, soft scent that plays up the light spring-like qualities of gardenia and isn't as heady or creamy as some other blends. (This may be a good of bad thing, depending on the gardenia lover.) The other florals in the blend complement the bloom quite nicely and I'm very fond of the overall fragrance. I have yet to smell a gardenia scent that reminds me of this, I find it unique. I'd give 5 stars for the scent itself, but I'm leaning toward 4 because I wish it had more throw - it's so faint on me! (I wish I knew what the older "sex toy" bottle looked like, that sounds hilariously naughty!)

Rich, round, womanly, can't go wrong gardenia scent. Better than some mass-market gardenia scents, which I've found either cheapand harsh or, oddly, smelling like berries.

I am new to the wonders of gardenia and my response was quite literally wow!!! Floral at its most beautifull and sensually expressive. I love this
