Mossy Soil is a minor miracle- an excitingly creative remodel of a traditionally French chypre, enriched with bold new innovations. Strung atop sparklingly clean aldehydes, bracing bergamot, and a bright, sensually mossy base, JMP has added a richly earthly heart note to balance a lush floral bouquet. Traditional animalics- civet and castoreum- provide feral sensuality, but again, balance is struck, this time with a rich and creamy ambered blend of labdanum, patchouli, and vanilla. It's almost as if Mossy Soil is all forms of chypre- traditional, floral, leather, dark- all rolled into one big, beautiful love letter to the genre.
