The Rumeli Hisari fortress was constructed in 1452, and is considered a historic landmark today in Turkey. While no longer used to it's full capabilities, the fortress played a significant role in the fall of Constantinople in 1453. Now, Alghabra pays tribute to the fortitude of Turkey with Ancient Fortress. An opening of green, fresh galbanum, lemon, neroli and apple sends you to the banks of the Bosphorus, upon which Rumeli Hisari is perched. Aquatic notes wash over seamoss and juniper berry, traveling back hundreds of years before to the leather of freshly-tanned coats and tobacco wafting from pipes on ships passing by. The solid foundation of this fragrance, sandalwood and cedarwood, will leave you with the impression of an impenetrable castle that has defied time with its strength.
