Here's what other people are saying about Yatagan...
I bought a bottle of this for my dad. And he won't settle for anything else now; alas, his days of "Aspen" or "Polo" are over. This is he-man, alpha man juice. Dry, herbal, and far stronger than any other men's cologne I ever encountered. (Go easy on the dose. Knocks even those old superpowered feminines like Opium, Casmir or Georgio right out of the ball park, for potency). One of a kind. Love it, or recoil in horror. Will put hair or your chest even if you didn't have any. (In attitude, at least).

Like bathing in celery juice. Not seeing the "scimitar" part at all. Scent doesn't deepen or mellow, just remains celery. Odd. Good for celery lovers, I suppose.

Instant love. It's the exact sort of exotic I wanted. The pine and fennel combine right up front to smell like celery and it stays that way for a long time. It reminds me of something that was around when this came out--Jacomo, which I can no longer find. I've been searching and searching for something to WOW me lately and this IS IT!

Not for the faint-hearted, I'll say that. Yatagan roars out of the bottle with an intoxicating blend of dry, dry herbs and no fruit or flower in sight. Powerful, I admit I use it judiciously (but use it I do). Utterly unlike anything else I've come across, and I can see how it might split opinion, but for a certain group of people it's very nearly addictive. Probably not an "easy" fragrance (like, say, Aventus -- in fact it's on the other end of the perfume spectrum from Aventus -- for better or worse). Quite an adult fragrance, given the lack of anything sweet or fruity. One-of-a-kind, for people into that sort of thing.

Reminds me of a cleaner version of Aramis. It's really nice.

I just love this scent -- an exquisite masculine classic, evocative of a much manlier decade than our own. An almost skanky musk, laden with gorgeous and bold woody notes, and with a decidedly oriental tonoe. This reminds me a bit of Le Labo Oud, but perhaps without the delicate saffron notes. If you need that extra bit of confidence and swagger on a hot date, look no further.

This is perhaps my favorite men's fragrance of all time. You can get it from discounters much more cheaply than it is here, but it totally deserves to be here and is worth the retail price ... and more. A true dry woods classic.
