Yes, it's expensive. I save it for laundering sheets and cotton dress shirts and blouses. It smells very sensual for at least a few days on my sheets, but it's faded by laundering time again. Now here is my gripe... WHY DON'T THEY MAKE A MATCHING FABRIC SOFTENER??? AAARRRRGGHH

$45 for laundry detergent sounds ridiculous, yet I would pay it over and over for this indulgent fragrance on my clothing and linens. It is deep, woodsy and addictive. I get whiffs here and there when my fabrics brush close to my nose and I do a double take to get a deep inhalation of the scent. Something I didn't know I was missing till I tried it.

Sorry to say this is very disappointing. It’s true to the smell of the perfume but leaves very little scent on laundered fabric. I have also tried—and gone through a couple of bottles of—The Laundress Rose 31 detergent, which is much more powerful and long-lasting. Unfortunately the Santal 33 just doesn’t last.
