To make things clear, I ADORE this perfume, but I also understand that this is a very person-specific scent. I believe this is a perfume where you need to understand the vision behind it as described above, or appreciate that there are many angles for "stern, yet elegant" scents in this world. In my case, it's both. I frequently use this as aromatherapy, inducing focus and calm when I need it. I bought a sample and intend to buy a full bottle.

I like this juice- it's nice and strong- metallic with long limbs and lots of structure. It's not as dry as other incenses such as CDG Avignon or Heeley's Cardinal. Warms up in the drydown and has exceptional longevity. Not sure if I will buy a bottle yet but I do like it a lot on 2 trials. It is also reminiscent of Lutens' Iris Silver Mist, but with incense added.

This is a very straightforward, narrow fragrance to me. Personally, I am not picking up on the nuances listed in the notes - I am experiencing something very simple. It's like an arrow sailing past my nose. There is something nostalgic in its tone, and it makes me grin a little. It doesn't really stand out in the crowd, but it could be a real winner for someone who just wants a simple fragrance in an elegant bottle.

Opens fresh and floral, a slight warmth underneath, a warmth or spice only in the way that wisteria or lilac is "spicy". And that's it; no layered revelation in drydown for me. This is a well mannered floral with none of the sass that I associate with CdG. If I had a teenaged niece, I would give her the rest of my sample.
