Here's what other people are saying about Santal de Mysore...
i wish i could afford jugs of this stuff. it is a tricky one, though! at first, it smells gourmande -- curry, black pepper, and butter. delicious to eat, but not so great to smell liek a kitchen. oooh, but wait for it... if you are a sandalwood lover, it is worth the wait. and you don't have to wait long! on the skin, it mellows out (and warms up!) really quickly. the harsh foodie smells dissipate in maybe 5 minutes, and then the silky road down sandalwood lane begins. this sandalwood is deep, warm, rich, and buttery. it is maybe 2:1 sweet:spicy as sandalwood goes. but you know how some sandalwoods are lovely, but kind of mixed up with vanilla or amber scents? this one is subtly more smokey, spicy, and just enough of a sour or a bitter touch to balance out the sweet buttery parts so that they are not overwhelming. this is a rich, deep sandalwood, as long as you are not turned off by the weirdness of its first few minutes.

I LOVE currie, but this is all out cinnamon, with something else. I will give it another try because it has cumin ( which I LOVE )...but...I am not holding my breath.

Whilst I agree with the reviews below that the initial note is a spicy curry, I think it's worth persevering with this. A few moments later, Santal de Mysore melts into a warming veil of sweet sandalwood and cinammon, balanced by the benzoin.

Beautiful, rich and warm. My husband also smells good with it on-so worth the price. Cologne and perfume all in one!!

Love the opening of spices, benzoin, but the dreadful sour pickle note rears its ugly head:(((

Got a good sized sample of this, compared it to Santal Blanc. Santal wins. Mysore is way too burnt, not sophisticated at all.

at first you smell some warm sweet curry BUT then a rich sandalwood wraps you in comfort. please try and give it a chance. perfume changes... and this one is very seductive.

If you want to smell like a pot of curry, then buy this scent. Like other SL Scents on me: Too much cumin, bo scent. YUCK!!!!!!

This is a glorious sandalwood scent that is one of the best creations from this house. However, the price for this is quite high. It's always best to check on ebay first, before spending more than is necessary (doesn't a 75ml bell jar cost this much?).

This is so perfect for cold winter nights. Spicy, woodsy and dry. Yum.
