Here's what other people are saying about Daim Blond...
Beautiful elegant scent. Polished professional fragrance. The apricot suede is lovely

The first reviewer hit the nail on the head. If you read her review, then close your eyes and sniff...SPOT ON! THis stuff is soooo good!!!!!

I could wear Serge Lutens every day of the week but this is one of my favourites. Like dipping my nose into a suede handbag that has retained the powdery, violet and apricot scent of a vintage lipstick. It's got the qualities of what I consider to be a 'skin scent'; it melts into my skin and as it develops takes on the sensual character of a soft leather. Subtle yet lingering and bewitching.

I purchased 9 fragrance samples, several of which were SL (reviews for the others to follow). I am a perfume junkie and love trying new scents. Although I tend to gravitate to a specific type of scent (woodsy florals, orientals, etc), I can appreciate different scents even if they aren't something that I would traditionally wear. Honestly, I cannot say the same about Daim Blond. There is something to potent, so nauseating, and borderline toxic that I cannot rid my skin of this scent soon enough. There's nothing salvageable from this... except perhaps its unyielding sillage. Whatever you do, don't get this on a blind buy. Get a sample first, then decide.

Soft, subtle and elegant. The most wearable iris fragrance I have come across.

SORRY! I made a mistake in my comment below. The perfume with the Iris-note is "Anonimo Veneziano" from Nobile 1942. This is a woman's fragrance witch is in the same league as Diam Blond imho.

My husband tested a lot of perfumes over the years, never wanting to buy one but stayed true to his 1869 from Acca Kappa. Last week Daim Blond went on his skin and a view hours later he bought it! Even I am going to use it: it is so wonderful! Just wanted to add a tip: if you like this scent you must try Nobile 1942, Ponteveccio. There is a mans and a woman's Version (Ponteveccio W). The Iris note in both is exquisite. The first day I wore it I had 3! compliments on this perfume every time I had to open my overcoat. Daim Blond: a wristsniffer and headturner. Sofisticated and subtle. Lovely.

Oh, absolutely adorable!!!! A must-have one for me! High society, reach women, with elegant fragrance.....

Something about white gloves and white woods come to mind when you smell this. There's a silky musk and leather quality to the opening, but after a while the powdery iris takes over and strays for hours and hours. Anyone who doesn't like musk should stay away. This is a real true "blonde" fragrance. Soft, velvety, instantly sophisticated and a little bit princessy.

I really, really wanted to like this scent ... I have recently been discovering the world of "leather" scents, but I have found most of the renditions I've tried to be too strong and/or masculine (I like very subtle scents). Based on the reviews, I was sure DB would be the perfect thing. However, this perfume is just too sweet and powdery -- to the point of being cloying to me. It gets a bit better as it dries down, but definitely not enough to make me want to slog through the initial hour.

I love this scent! At first I thought it might be too masculine, but it isn't. It is elegant and sexy and yet also fresh/clean... I get compliments all the time when I wear this. A winner!

I absolutely adore this scent. It is so womanly and rich smelling. My favourite Lutens by far. I love the leather and the powdery dry-down on me. I combine it with Un Bois Vanille to give a little 'lift' and a touch of sweetness. I've gotten compliments when wearing it but the main thing for me, is how it makes me feel....completely happy. It suits me very well.

I'm having no luck with Serge Lutens. I think it must be a chemistry thing for certainly his fragrances garner high praise, this one in particular. However, on me it smells cheap and flat and faintly nauseating. I do smell a faint note of leather/suede, but I've never longed to smell like a shoe store. I think I'll give up trying to find a Lutens I like and save my money for Montales.

This is a lovely fragrance. Very soft sophisticated and worldly. I think it wears better in cooler, less-humid climates, it's amazing how the notes separate out and one really smells the suede, like a very expensive suede jacket. I received many compliments on it and my husband adores it on me!

I agree. This SL scent is sophisticated, and as the Luckyscent description says, rich, soft, and oh-so-very elegant. When I bought my first bottle of SL, the nice salesperson gave me a handful of free samples. This one was among them. I wore it at work and got a huge lot of compliments. What I love about SL is that his scents are so different. :)

One of the most sophisticated of the 5 Lutens fragrances I have tested. The "suede" comes through and the fragrance of cardomom is inspired underneath the top notes - perhaps because I love this often-unused spice in my food, it was a pleasure to smell it - as an "undertone"- in this perfume. Sophisticated, unisex, and warm - certainly a winter fragrance that has all the best of the season to offer in it's complexity.
