Christopher Sheldrake

As an architect-in-training traveling to France in order to improve his language skills, Christopher Sheldrake did not expect to find himself caught up in the world of perfumery. But the part of France he ended up turned out to be Grasse, and Sheldrake found that his design talents extended far beyond buildings. He got started at Chanel before spending 22 years working for Quest International (now owned by Givaudan), where he designed for such prestigious brands as Serge Lutens, Shisedo, and Space NK. He has recently returned to Chanel. As he is responsible for almost the entirety of the Serge Lutens line, Sheldrake’s style could certainly be described as bold and diverse, yet also utterly dedicated to structure, sophistication and aesthetic pleasure- his are fragrances designed to delight.
