L’Anonyme
Eau de Toilette
by A Lab on Fire

The Scoop
A smooth, clean fragrance tempered by a brush of the earthy and spiritual, L’Anonyme is the epitome of wearable by anyone-- usually a difficult feat but one this perfume has down pat. The opening is crisp and transparent, a modern and minimalist citrus-meets-clean that isn’t complicated or overdone “soapy.” Geranium offers up its uplifting nature throughout, a little velvety, a little rose-like, an always-shifting fragrance note that can lean masculine or feminine depending on its neighboring scents (this one is right down the middle). Suede leather and blonde woods carry with them a little touch of warmth, but not enough to overpower this perfume’s simple, clear heart. Unpretentious, uncomplicated and unfussy, L’Anonyme has no baggage... it’s drama-free and oh-so-attractive because of it.

I adore this scent! And the description couldn't be any more accurate. It is exactly as it says - probably the most wearable scent ever for me. Completely soft, very intriguing - without being overtly masculine or feminine. I'll be adding this to my collection!

This is not very strong once it dries down a bit. At first it is strong and overly green for my tastes. At dry down it reminds me a little bit of Domenico Caraceni 1913 which is straight up funeral home scent. This isn't as bad, but I have no desire to smell like this. Apparently its the geranium or something.

Fantastic. Olivier Polge, who has already done so much terrific work (Dior Homme - need I say more?), strikes again. A wonderful transparent unisex fragrance (I would rather smell it on a man), strikingly similar in character to fellow perfumer-wizard's Thierry Wasser's A Lab on Fire Sweet Dreams 2003 contribution. Both are very much worth having in one's inventory of fragrances. I would love to know the backstory on both of these fragrances and the road to their release by A Lab on Fire.
