We were momentarily taken aback by the name after our first sniff. Intense? Intensely cozy, maybe. Boadicea’s quixotic take on a fruity floral has a powdery, enveloping sweetness that puts it in the same league as some of our favorite grown-up comfort scents. A light crisp citrus leads us to a sweet bouquet of blossoms loaded with pollen – velvety lily, plummy rose and delicate jasmine – nestled in a soft, pillowy cloud of vanilla and patchouli. Delectable and exotic, this has the dreamy edible flower quality of confections like rosewater ice cream and Turkish Delight. In spite of its softness, this has an insistent quality - like someone whispering in your ear. You want to lean in for another sniff – to decipher the enigmatic muskiness of the vanilla, to experience the unexpected freshness of the lily. Deliciously seductive.
