The ocean. Not a glamorous beach. Not a tropical island – but the ocean itself, in all of its iodine-laced majesty. Wild and vast, with algae, driftwood and that blast-of-salt-air that stirs up when a fierce wind whips across the gray waves. The ozone in the opening is raw – almost harsh -- but as Hyle warms on the skin, a compelling and authentic sea scent with a bristling freshness emerges. You can catch an occasional clear whiff of ginger or lavender, but for the most part the citrus, aromatic and musk elements blend seamlessly into a brisk distillation of the ocean. If you prefer your aquatic scents laced with the sweetness of melon or tiare, this is probably not for you. However, if you love your oceans untamed and your beaches uninhabited, this crisp breath of fresh salt air may be just the thing to revive your spirits. |
