Treasured by the ancients as a stone celebrating the spirits of both the sea and the sky, the otherworldly appeal of Turquoise has endured the ages. Striking a delicate balance between the earthbound and the atmospheric, this masterfully crafted perfume is every bit as breathtaking as a fathomless ocean or a sweeping sky. A sense of vivifying green is achieved with a blend of pine-like elemi, lush coriander and sappy juniper; whilst lotus flower, fucus seaweed and ambergris set the composition awash with calming marine-blue associations. A deep mineralic earthiness is ever-present thanks to a shifting curl of incense which here, is harmoniously blended with fragrant myrrh wood. Turquoise is a stone whose colour varies between blue and green and is intermittently marbled with veins of brown; here, we can't imagine a more beautiful, nor more accomplished olfactory interpretation of this gem. As with all of Durbano's stone poems, Turquoise is a perfume to be treasured.
