Peche Cardinal
Eau de Parfum
by Parfums MDCI

The Scoop
Péché Cardinal is an enticing froth of sinful and sweet, blending luscious fruits and mesmerizingly heady white flowers into a siren song. Warm, rounded and alluring, this Bellini-esque scent opens with a juicy, light-hearted sweetness that belies its intoxicating nature. As it warms on the skin, it becomes boldly flirtatious— this is the perfect scent for the belle of the ball. Péché Cardinal (translation: Cardinal Sin) opens with the apricot-hay sweetness of davana combined with the silken fur of ripe golden peaches and creamy coconut. The tart fruitiness of blackcurrant and prune keep the fragrance from becoming too sweet, allowing the cool, fresh-from-the-flowershop tuberose to shine from the heart of the composition. White lilies add an additional, slightly green aspect to the scent. The cedar, sandalwood and musc provide a quiet contrapunto to the fruits. An unabashedly romantic fragrance for those daring enough to wear it.

While this might be a more sophisticated fruity scent with undertones of gardenia, it gives me an old lady feel. I'm feeling it's like Victoria Secret lotion on a 60 year old millionaire. Snobby fruit, too uptight for me.

too much like a synthetic unripe peach. not appealing in the slightest

Peach is not a note I ever search for: Too sweetie-pie/girly. cheap drugstore body lotion. However, I am now a convert as I really love this very feminine lush floral. The peach is warm and sensuous, with some fleeting tuberouse and coconut. There is a berrry in there, too. I feel like something out of those floral scenes in My Fair Lady in this. This has much more body than KM Peau de Peche. If you are going to go peach, go big or go home, and this is the one for it.

An intense and luscious peach liqueur leads to a sense of floating on a bed of peach petals. A beautiful dream!

Peche is French for peach. Le P'eche' is French for sin. With this perfume, Peche means peach.

This is very sharp and has a strong detergent quality. I dislike this tremendously.

I am so grateful for having found luckyscent. Without them I would be smelling like every other Angel, Dior and Juicy tart on the planet. Peche is hands down the most crowd pleasing of all the perfumes I've tried through here. The end result is always, "Oh my God, you smell amazing." Lovely, comforting, and sexy, it never fails to pick me up.

Too strong, too overpowering. Totally bummed out. I had high hopes for this fragrance based on the reviews. Its Keiko Mecheri for me. Peach is tricky.

I just got a sample of this yesterday. After 8 years of searching for a new fragrance I have finallly found it! Within hours of putting it on 3 men asked me what I was wearing. Can't remember the last time that happened. Best of all, I can still smell it this morning. Just orderded my bottle. For those with sensitive skin or chemistry that changes scents, this is perfect. Beautiful and sophisticated.

Neglected to mention - Laura here again…there is the subtlest intrigue of white flowers dancing amongst that aforementioned “smoky allure”, which is what earns this composition the high mark (in my appreciation) of “complex”. This fragrance hits on all my criteria of a perfect perfume.

As it’s the perfume that’s the thing, thank goodness one can purchase it without that expensive crystal stopper, which makes the difference between a $235 bottle of perfume and a $610 bottle! As for this fragrance not being worth its price, ($235) I respectfully disagree. Anytime I find a fragrance that stands apart from the rest for its uniqueness and complexity, and that lasts all day long, I am more than willing to plunk down the money for it, particularly if I’ll be wearing it often. The “Bellini-like”, peachy-apricot-hay scent is what my nose first detects and enjoys upon application. Then, after about five minutes it takes on a smoky, very sexy allure that lasts all day long, and it’s not overpowering or too ‘vavoom’ for work! This is a very sophisticated, seductive scent. If you make it your own, I imagine that the noses who encounter this fragrance on you will be appreciative, admiring and stunned all in one moment.

The only "péché" here (no, it doesn't mean 'peach;' it's French for 'sin;' therefore, the name means "cardinal sin") is the price. And it's not cardinal. It's a CAPITAL sin.

Beautiful velvety Peach......worth the price....NO, to generic to shell out that kind of $$$$4, unless you can find someone to split the bottle with.

absolutely beautiful peach scent. worth the price tag? absolutely not.

This is lovely - so peachy and sweet then the drydown leads to quite a classic French musky smell. But not too heavy. It doesn't smell nearly as expensive as it is, however!! At this kind of price you kind of need some extra special-ness to a fragrance. This is lovely, but not quite 'it'.

just what i want right now, a voluptous and slightly sweet fruity scent that is complex and sophisticated. its so pricey... otherwise its a 5....

VERY BEAUTIFUL! at least on me. My initial thought was: I hated it. I got busy and waved my arm in the air and smelled something soooo wonderful it was UNBELIEVABLE. The dry down is absolutly SUPERB. Give it a try and wait for it to blend with your body chemistry.

Peach, peach and more peach! This is a heavy peach puree drenched in syrup on the verge of becoming saccarhine sweet. Oddly, at the same time it has a bubbly quality. The tuberose is very soft and distant but gains more presence as the peach fades. I'll retest in warmer weather because I love Parfums MDCI in general and look forward to their upcoming releases!
