Confetto
Eau de Parfum
by Profumum

The Scoop
An absolutely gorgeous rendition of almond that teases us with glimpses of bitterness glittering darkly behind the expected sweetness, keeping us unsettled and intrigued and coming back for more. Not that sweetness isn’t present in Confetto – it’s there, but it’s complicated. Without its frequent companions vanilla and rose, almond is less of a comfort food and more of a provocative elixir. A pronounced anise note coaxes out its sensuous side and a soft bed of amber and musk lead it even further away from candyland. For us, Confetto’s mesmerizing blend of sugar and shadow created an instant craving and left us weak in the knees. Bewitching.

It does smell a lot like Hynotic Poison. I like that perfume a lot but can't wear it cause it's too strong and intense on me unfortunately. Confetto is nice but didn't make me swoon for it. I felt neutral about it. I bet with the right chemistry it could be great though. It's sweet but not overboard. If you think you may like this than get a sample cause it's got potential.

this scent is a beautiful, beachy scent to me. i agree that it's sweet but its not too "sticky". smells a bit like delicious sunscreen, if youre into that

It is EXACTLY like DIOR- HYPNOTIC. Honestly makes me nauseous. If your looking from a great vanille fragrance - M.Micallef Vanille Aoud is heavenly.

I didn't feel the love for Confetto like I expected. It had a sharp, synthetic smell that I didn't find appealing. Next...

Oh how i wanted to love this one.. Originally i compared this with lea, Amande Sucree, and ss. cara. They all have the almond note and are slightly similar but for some reason confetto is unimpressive on my skin with minimal lasting power and not terribly fragrant. I think this one comes down to chemistry, but i ended up picking Cara which smells like almonds and marshmallows and is the best of the 3 on my skin. Im sure this would be great on the right person but i would suggest trying SS Cara along with this, its cheaper and i do prefer it. I do think this line has some amazing frags and i own vanitas and Acqua e Zucchero and intend to add Fiore d'Ambra to my collection as well.

I am surprised by how much I like this. On my skin, it doesn't read as sweet as the other sweet Profumums. Reminds my of marzipan, but there is another note in there that balances out the sugared almond. I think the list says anise, which I usually hate. Whatever it is, it makes this one a winner.

this is lovely, although it reads as pure vanilla on me. I've enjoyed smelling it all day (and have NEVER ever been attracted to vanilla scents) but my husband says it reminds him of the vanilla-scented car deodorizers. sad, because I think it's warm and soft and lovely.

Never, ever, ever have I worn a fragrance that gets soooo many comments...all positive. Men and women love it. I get at least one compliment every day. I've heard it said that if you get a ton of compliments, you've found your new fragrance. I won't switch in a very long time. I prefer to wear the same fragrance always...it becomes my signature scent.

This is easily the best perfume I have ever tried. Id like to introduce a new grade of 6 stars. Its like the holy grail of all scents. Although a word of warning. The bottle comes with a cheap screw on atomizer attachment which you have to put on yourself. I made the expensive mistake of trusting the atomizer wouldnt leak and ended up with three quarters of the bottle spilt in my handbag. Am totally gutted. K

I love almond scents but I didn't get any almond from this at all. What I did get was a migraine unfortunately. I think it's just me, my sniffer is just off. I thought that a hint of anise would be ok, but it was more than a hint and my husband loathes anise and therefore would not stand next to me if I wore this. Bummer.

This is the second day of wearing. Yesterday it was too overpowering upon application. After today's application has mellowed it is spicy with a familiar incense-like note. I guess I like florals better. Not for daily wear. Maybe outdoors at night on boardwalk or a carnival.

I adore this. It reminds me of a lighter version of Hypnotic Poison, minus the florals. HP was my daily go-to scent for years, and I still wear it often enough to go through a bottle every year. Confetto will do very nicely for me as a casual scent. I'm buying a bottle. Pricey, but so beautiful. I also found that it layers beautifully over the drydowns of both Luctor et Emergo or HP. I think if you love Hypnotic Poison, you will love Confetto.

The is a new line at Srphora called Eau de Vie and the "Almond" perfume of the line smelss pretty much IDENTICAL to this! And it costs $18!!! They both smell great but to me there is just not enough difference at all to justify the price difference. I'm givng 4 starsthough because either way, i love them both.

this is less sweet than K.M Loukoum and easier to wear. Slightly gourmand but not too over the top. Gorgeous!

Three words: Hypnotic Poison Lite. (I'm pretty sure HP has a number of other notes that Confetto lacks, but the rendering is still remarkably similar.) There is a grassy/minty quality that the Dior lacks, which I believe can be credited to the anise. Confetto is lighter and more approachable than HP in my opinion, and I do have to say that if money were a moot point, Confetto would undoubtably be preferable.

This smells just like Dior Hypnotic Poison which is one of my favorite scents but much, much cheaper. It smells good though!

I love this! Confetto is the answer to my prayers. Several years ago, I fell in love with Lea St. Barth but longed for something that had some staying power. Here it is. Confetto is a different fragrance, but the almond and richness is reminiscent of Lea. The almond is beautiful and soft, and it must be the combination of amber & anise that gives it a bit of spicy kick on the drydown...but just a bit. It's perfect...a definite 5 for me.

This is lovely. Soft almond with a lilting powdery finish. Just a touch of anise and sweetness makes this a tiny bit gourmand but not overly so. Lasted all day too.

At first I thought this is very similar to Guerlain's L' Heure Bleue but without any violet/iris. As it evolves there are watery/melon-ish notes and light play-doh as well. There is a sharp green almond note that is almost too sweet, like artifical sweetner. OK, but not as warm or fuzzy as I would have liked.
