Hands down one of the most interesting and complex vanilla fragrances we have encountered, Nicolai’s latest creation combines the warm sumptuousness that we came to expect from this impeccably chic line with the surprising green earthiness. The blend of golden vanilla and verdant immortelle is strikingly unique; the warm gourmand nuances are interwoven here with the mineral butteriness of the plant. With the addition of a mouthwatering and naughty rum note, fiery cinnamon in the heart and the sensual combo of patchouli, amber and musk in the warm, woody drydown, this vanilla is as racy as it gets. The longer I have this on the more I warm up to it. Its nice but I was looking for more of a vanilla scent. I would rename this product, "Patchouli Intense" as mostly I just smell the patchouli and struggle to find any vanilla at all.

I never thought I liked vanilla scents until all at once I realized that I LOVE them. My husband, on the other hand, accuses most vanillas on me (no matter how complex, exotic, or expensive) of smelling like a cookie, or a car freshener. This one however, is *amazing*. When i first put it on, the cinnamon and spice is strong... I'm reminded of holiday potpourri. That, folks, is not what I'm going for. After a few minutes, though, the spice settles down and leaves a soft smoldering sweetness that doesn't smell like any one thing or the other. It's like walking around in a close cloud of my very own most amazing scent in the world. I feel like suddenly *I* smell amazing, not my fragrance. I've been wearing it for days, and I can't get enough of it. Going to have to buy a bottle.

This opens abrasive and obnoxious. My eye began to twitch and I could feel I headache begin immediately after applying. Since I had only applied a very small amount I decided to leave it instead of making it a scrubber. The dry down is nice and I would consider wearing this as an autumn fragrance. Use sparingly, especially the first time you apply.

The best vanilla scent I've worn. I didn't care for it when I first put it on, but it very quickly evolved to a warm, rich, but not overpowering vanilla. I didn't get the orange or cinnamon notes on my skin but definitely could smell the amber and patchouli on the drydown which I love. The scent was also longlasting which I usually don't get to enjoy with my skin chemistry unless it's an oil based scent. I Love this one a lot and the price is fairly reasonable:-)

I was very shocked that this perfume has NO vanilla essence in it! its smells so old fashioned,wow,just bad.....

This is such a complex, interesting, warm fragrance. Not the usual sweet, teenager vanilla. The Vanilla is buried under other interesting layers, which makes it even better, more subtle. I want to be the only one in the world wearing it! Don't judge by first whiff. Spray, walk around, let it sink in. I promise you'll be hooked. I get so many compliments on this fragrance and it lasts a long time. LOVE IT!

I bought this in a spirit of dutifulness, because my husband wanted a vanilla-scented mate. What a surprise! It's dense, shimmering, harmonious and complex, like a fairy garden ... it's the only perfume that I can smell by memory, when it's not present. Beautiful!

I purchased this on reading on the comments, so I kinda was worried that it just was going to be a regret, well i must say i am kinda happy ,my first spray, was scary its realy different, the scent at first was realy hard to say, but i gave it some time and the drydown is very nice vanilla, at first i thought,maybe this would not go well on men,sometimes some scents have to get to its base notes and this is what i found with this one, this has a wonderfull drydown so well im keeping this one,

Very yummy vanilla that you could eat by the spoonful! There is a bit of naughtiness in this vanilla with rum cinnamon and a dry smoked feeling at the end of it. I have not smelled a better vanilla fragrance anywhere. This one surpasses Micallef, Guerlain, Annunziata, TFord and Serge Lutens for the best vanila perfume I've smelled.

I agree that this is a bit like Serge Lutens' Un Bois de Vanille, but a less smokey version. It's lovely, and quirky like other PdN's. I love it! But why the price increase for this one? waa

Oh man do I wish this was me, but I can pull it off, but more power to those who can. I like to think of this as the next higher step for Serge Luten's Un Bois Vanille. Vanille Intense gets rid of the sugary notes and ups the smokey part along with a chocolate note from the patchouli. Eventually dries down to a warm earthy musky vanilla.

This is not your grandmother's vanilla, nor is this your baby sister's vanilla. I was expecting something very sweet. Instead I found a complex, sophisticated, seductive scent that can be worn day or night, This is an adult fragrance. I could see Angelina Jolie wearing this. Unfortunately, its not for me. I don't think I can carry it off.
