Maharanih is the latest creation by Patricia de Nicolaï, a descendant of Pierre Guerlain and founder of Parfums de Nicolaï. This elegant, both brisk and sensual perfume is an aromatic woody amber perfume suffused with the freshness of lavender and the luminosity of bitter orange radiating through the sweet warmth of the amber and spices. A perfume of contrasts, it evokes at first the heat of the sun naturally enhancing the aromas of an Indian garden à la Shalimar, even suggesting decay and indolic sensuality, before a breeze gently caressing the murmuring fountains, the tranquil orange groves and the herbs, comes cooling down the sensations. There are also delectable and subtle gourmand undertones of dark chocolate and bergamot-scented Earl Grey tea of which one would love to take a refreshing sip. Maharanih is a deliciously warm, semi-sweet citrusy and aromatic scent with dry accents, which smells distinctive in an understated way. Its undeniable sensuality is tempered by elegance, offering enough tonic notes to make it suitable for day or night.
