I've never written a perfume review before, but I felt so strongly that this one is not getting is due justice, I had to chime in. It is the best fragrance I've smelled to date, and I'm 45 years old. I don't have the nose to get in to the details of the notes, but I can safely say, if you like rose and/or citrus scents in general, you will love this. There is also something yummy in the base...I can't tell you what it is, but to me it comes out as something like nutmeg. I think it's theses notes that are hard to describe that make it so fantastic. It smells classic and expensive. Try it!

Please note that this is only MY opinion of how 1872 worked on MY personal body chemistry. Now, that said, this is the worst smell ever! I have taken the worlds most expensive perfume and turned it into boiled plasticy lemon juice. Exactly as if someone boiled barbie in a vat of citrus. So bad on me...SO BAD! Literally nauseating!
