A
Eau de Parfum
by BLOOD Concept

The Scoop
Intensely green and aromatic in its opening, Blood Concept A rushes at you with a minty, crushed herbs and leaves accord married with the rich spice of star anise. Its surprising dry down is amber-like, with hints of licorice and — believe it — the faint round softness of bubble gum. Of all these metaphorically blood-borne fragrances, Blood Concept A comes closest to evoking a perfume in the floral family, if only for a nanosecond, and because of its initial salvo of garden greens. It’s clear almost immediately, however, due to the signature metallic tinge that flashes like lightning through the olfactory air here and in the rest of the Blood Concept line that we are in a surreal, mineral world where fecundity is signified otherwise, and where flowers do not grow.

I really love this. Fresh on, it smells most strongly like metal, but as it dries, tomato leaf becomes the main note. It's really clean and light. Unfortunately, it completely fades in a few hours. Too bad, because it would have been the perfect spring perfume.

Very odd, I can't quite work out what it is. It reminds me of an Avon bubble bath we had as kids. The big ones in the bumpy bottles. Detergenty but not in a bad way. There is a hint of (accidentally) squashed ants. Weird I know but anyone who has bumped of an ant or two will know the smell.

No tremendous lasting power but a very pleasant, entirely wearable scent. Juicy and bright in a vegetal way. Not exactly green, certainly not floral; wonderfully fresh. Somewhat like Christopher Brosius's In the Summer Kitchen. Nice.

I have no review, but I have waited for a fragrance that includes tomato leaves! I can't wait to explore!!!
