With Maison Francis Kurkdjian, fragrance is a holistic experience. Now you can scent your skin and your house in matching scents. If candles are ideal for a slow burn, nothing beats the fragrant tendrils of smoke rising from a strip of Incense Paper for a quick puff of perfume.
Incense Paper is a couture variation on the traditional Papier d’Arménie, a century-old French product initially designed to disinfect the air, which is sold in small booklets of pre-perforated, scent-soaked paper strips in practically every pharmacy in the country, and still widely used in French households. Francis Kurkdjian, who is of Armenian extraction, actually composed a fragrance for the family-owned Papier d’Arménie company for the year of Armenia in France in 2006.
The principle is simple: make a tiny accordion with the strip, light it with a match, blow out the flame and let the paper smolder in an ashtray (remember those?) or dish to release the scent.
Each pull-box contains 20 pre-cut perfumed strips and as many matches, and makes an irresistible gift. So irresistible, in fact, that you’ll want to keep it for yourself, so you might as well order two!
