The Scoop
Tabarome was commissioned by the legendary statesman Sir Winston Churchill, who wanted a modern version of his favorite fragrance from the CREED Private Collection: Tabarome Private. Tabarome means “tobacco” and “aroma”. There’s a pinch of Virginia tobacco in this scent -– very fitting as Sir Winston was a cigar lover par excellence.

Sensual yet very masculine scent.

I'm pretty unimpressed. First off, I didn't pay $200 for this, I would probably be kicking myself if I did. I got it off a friend, paid him $50 for a 3/4s full bottle. The size is very generous but now I'm wondering how I'm going to be able to get through the remaining 90 ml. The scent isn't bad, its smooth and woody, but its nothing special and doesn't have a whole lot of staying power on my (admittedly dry) skin. If this was say $70, it would be a good deal, but clearly Creed are banking on their name to sell this fragrance, because it certainly couldn't on its own. Also, some misleading advertising on their part: This is NOT the fragrance worn by Winston Churchill. That Tabarome, what was called "Vintage Tabarome" was discontinued because climate change made the materials too hard to source. This is a reformulation released under the same name. It is admirable that Creed would rather discontinue their product when it could not meet their high standards, but not when they try to hang the old's legacy on an inferior new.
