This is a very primal scent. There is an almost faecal note (musk?) which combats the sweet jasmine and apricot.

Blah. The tobacco notes came out right away on me, even though they're supposed to be the base and in the drydown. Very medicinal; my nose felt slightly burnt. The jasmine was all kinds of wrong. It was dirty, not at all floral. Mostly, it was covered up by the tobacco, but every once in a while, I'd get a whiff, and it had the choking sadness of a funeral home, but again, not really floral, just heavy and dirty. I rarely wanted to sniff my wrist while wearing this. I was patient and waited for the drydown, which was a sweeter tobacco with some woody notes. The drydown was pleasant and was the only good thing about this fragrance on me. Although I ordered a sample from Luckyscent, I would not try this one again.

I ordered a sample because it was rec'd for those who like TDC Jasmin de Nuit. It arrived broken but wow, the package smelled great!! From what I've salvaged from the inside of the plastic wrap, it's a lot brighter and greener than TDC Jasmin de Noir, more of a day fragrance while I equate J de Nuit to hot sultry summer evenings. I'm excited to see how it will develop on my skin, this is definitely one I'm putting on my wishlist.

This is excellent..I agree with the other reviewer; this is one of the few florals I'm willing to wear! It's a sweet, light fragrance that comes off as clean, but the tobacco gives it a mysterious quality. If this were a woman, she'd be dressed in preppy j crew with sexy lingerie underneath.

Don't misunderstand. There is no burning tobacco - acrid cigarette smoke. Nothing on fire. The tobacco note is fresh cigarettes or a cigar...UNlit. This scent is unique. Very strong Jasmine at first blush. Mellows nicely. The tobacco lends a sweetness and depth that really works. It's warm and cozy without being gourmand-y and vanilla-y. Nice.

This is an amazing scent! It has an old Hollywood sensuality to it. Initially it smells like Cigars. I grew up in a Cuban household so it reminds me of a living room full of Cuban men smoking Cuban cigars. After it drys down, the Jasmine emerges and it's just heavenly. It smells like the gorgeous streets of Cuba; flowers being sold by the road, old men playing chess while smoking, etc. It's great!

kind of dishevelled but in a really good way. reminds me of being at a gig in the days before the smoking ban a hot girl walks past trailing jasmine and and smoking a rollup. then you go back to the music.

Imagine yourself in a flower shop admiring a bouquet of jasmine as another customer walks in smoking their cigarette. This was my first impression of this scent. As a male searching for a floral masculine scent, I continue to be surprised by ELdO, finding a balance of femininity & masculinity. It opens up with a seductive & playful notes of jasmine mixed with hints of apricot and tonka bean. As it begins to warm down, smoky cedar and musk notes are introduced. If I was to start smoking, this would be a nice way to do it. You get the scent of the smoke while enjoying your bouquet of jasmine w/o the nicotine. This is a fragrance for anyone who is confidant and does not mind blowing a little smoke into someone's face

Yeesh ... "Jasmin et Body Odor" would be a much more accurate description of this! Be SURE to let this dry down before you decide to buy, folks, because this perfume begins to exude a distinct BO smell within about 15 mins. Zut alors!

I have had perfumes go from fresh to vaguely skanky before, but never one that went from a smidge skanky (but in a good way) to fresh. This is the exception. It starts out smelling like cigs in the pack and jasmine, but then freshens and brightens as the hay and apricot warm up and find their places. I am not by nature a jasmine lover, but this has great potential.

I was leery of this scent--despite its good reputation--because I despise cigarette smoke. But I really like it. The jasmine is sweet but moderated by the notes of grass and woods, while they, the tonka, and the fruits suggest cured tobacco, not ashes and fumes. It dries down to a sweet grassiness on me. This is one of the few florals I'm willing to wear. Great stuff.

this smells of. . . smokers breath, old smokers breath. It is a complicated scent, but not to be confused with interesting or god forbid, good. Sorry, this is actually a stinker.
