We know that the number in the title refers to the number of ingredients in the formula, but we suspect that it also has something to do with the fact this rendition of jasmine makes us feel like we are 17 again... no, it does not smell “too young”, it smells beautifully youthful! The pairing of vanilla and the airy jasmine, with its naturally honeyed undertone, is the proof that the most genius ideas are so very simple. Jasmin 17 is reminiscent to me of frangipani (plumeria) flowers in the middle of summer back home in Australia - unashamedly heady, silky blooms that you'd catch a whiff of on the occasional breeze, the very essence of summer to me. This is sunshine in a bottle, balmy sweetness tempered by orange blossom and given a smooth edge of sandalwood and musk. It definitely tiptoes on the edge of heady for the first few minutes but on me it is never cloying or overpowering. My favorite fragrance ever is Jo Malone Orange Blossom, and Jasmin 17 seems like OB's gorgeous older sister. It wears quite close to the skin but has great longevity. Full bottle worthy for sure - it evokes such a sense of homesickness and warm fuzzies for me that I can't forget how this scent makes me feel and I find myself reaching for it often.

I'm not a big fan of pure floral perfumes, but this has blown me away. The jasmin is initially strong and powerful but blends into the most gorgeous subtle fragrance that literally last all day. I don't pick up too much of the neroli but I do love the jasmin veiled over sandalwood and musk in the basenotes. When I smelled the perfume in the sample bottle I thought I would need to layer it over some musk to remove the jasmin sharpness, but I'm so glad I didn't, it's perfect by itself. This is the first really 'floral' perfume that I will invest in.

I am a huge fan of jasmine, but this I do not like. Jasmine can be awkward, rude, if not well composed. Unfortunately, this is like that. Very boring, linear and not at all attractive. Some may be like the durability of this perfume. Among these "linear" jasmine, only Nuda is great!

I find Jasmin 17 to become more subtle throughout the day when I wear it. i don't tend to be a fan of florals but this one is definatly one of my faves. It must be the vanilla and the sandalwood that take away the headiness of the florals (which can really effect me) on my skin.

quite a strong jasmin scent with a very decent amount of orange in it, im not really a fan of white flowers hence i dont really like this although i must say (as per LS's 'you may also like' recommendations) that something in this does remind me of Kilians's love. Weird!

This is a strong scent. I put what I thought was an ordinary amount on the first time and overpowered everyone around me. I put half the amount on the second time and it worked out nicely. If you want staying power, this one has it.

I think there's way too much neroli in the formula for a jasmine fragrance, which makes it three neroli/orange blossom scents in Le Labo's line! I don't even like the sickly sweetness of neroli, I associate it at worst with cleaning products, at best with Middle Eastern sweets, neither of which I'd like to smell like.

Hmmm...I very seldom disagree so strongly with the in-house description. To me this isn't a youthful jasmine at all, in fact, I'd call it a strong, mature woman's jasmine. The opening is that strong 'tire store' accord that jasmine sometimes has and on me at least, that never totally goes away. Not that this isn't pretty, it is. But this is a jasmine with some teeth to it. This fragrance has such strength that it verges (not quite there) on being suitable for a man to wear. And trust me, I never thought I'd say that about a jasmine scent. Try this, anyway. It's interesting and different from other jasmines out there.
