A classic, full-bodied vanilla – rich, creamy and sweet – that is a prime example of why vanilla scents are so very beloved. A hint of citrus leads to a delectable fruitiness and then it is full-on vanilla in all its luscious, craving-inducing glory. There are a lot of vanilla scented things in the world, but as any passionate vanilla fan will tell you, they are not all created equal. Quality matters, and a finely crafted vanilla scent is as different from the plasticky, mass-marketed versions as leather is from vinyl. It is no surprise that Farmacia SS Annunziata has given us a superlative version that is tantalizingly edible and utterly seductive. Floral grace notes and velvety amber add warmth and complexity, but they are in the mix as supporting players – dreamy, delicious vanilla is the star attraction here, and she deserves her spotlight. A must try for those looking for their Holy Grail vanilla scent.

I don't think that I have ever smelled a vanilla this good. I have always loved the idea of wearing a smooth, creamy vanilla, but up until this point have found most to be cloying, sickeningly sweet, or chemical. This is a beautiful vanilla with lasting power, rich and true to the actual pod (or extract, as another reviewer commented). It is still sweet, but in just the right places, and the other notes do a nice job of balancing the vanilla with a rich and smoky feeling (thank you, amber). If you love the idea of wearing a vanilla but find most end up smelling synthetic on you, give this a try. I'll definitely be ordering a bottle.

Such a lovely fragrance. Vanilla has the staring roll here, not at all fake or plasticy, very true to vanilla extract, type. I smell faintly the lemon in the top. Dries down to a lovely vanilla with a hint of musky/amber. I cannot stop smelling myself. So wonderful. Will be buying a fb.

This scent is great! I am a guy and I think it smells great if not a little too feminine for me, but if you want some advice add 1 part of this to Tom Fords tobacco vanilla and you will have the best cologne you have ever smelled guaranteed. Tobacco vanilla isnt sweet enough, but add this and its amazing! I found the best smell ever, I got 4 compliments just today!Amazing stuff!

l get a sweet, sugary vanilla, suggestive of delicate macaroons rather than a rich vanilla cake. The lemon is very subtle, & l do not detect the floral notes. The vanilla slowly becomes smoother, creamier & more caramel-like, & closely resembles natural vanilla extract in the mid-phase, before being joined by hints of amber in the base. A very nice, good quality fragrance & a must-try for vanilla lovers.

I do love this! it's a true vanilla and yet it's very fresh, not heavy or foody. I frequently travel to Zanzibar and it really does remind me of the vanilla vines that grow there. When you sniff the pod right on the vine with all the flowers around this is what it smells like!

Gorgeous! This is a warm, rich, true vanilla bean scent that will encourage you to sit, in a state of bliss, with your nose pressed to your arm. The bottle is huge and the lasting power and sillage are impressive, so it's well worth the investment. I've tried many, many vanillas, but I always come back to this one. I bought a full bottle, but I still keep a tester vial with me at all times because I never want to be without this.

The best fragrance I've ever had on my skin! Absolutely lovely, comforting and sexy! I'm always on the lookout for the perfect fragrance (I prefer high quality sweet vanilla-y fragrances but I like a diverse range of scents) and this one is the best! It smells quite sugary on me, but a sophisticated sugary sweet vanilla smell. Will be purchasing the bottle as soon as I can afford it! This is a good vanilla but not very buttery . The lemon and amber make sure of that. It's still good and smells exactly like Soft Soap body butter shower cream 'Heavenly Vanilla ' . Good stuff .

This is a winner for sure when it comes to vanilla. It'd buttery and warm and smooth. I love it! It has some citrus notes to the top chord then goes into a new kind of rich vanilla. I couldn't stop sniffing my arm when I tried the sample. I can see why it was on back order. Seems like a perfume that many could wear well. A day or night scent. One of my favorite vanilla scents so far and I look around. I LOVE GOOD perfume!

My holy grail. I had all but given up hope on finding the perfect vanilla scent - everything I tried was too synthetic, sugar-loaded, cloying, or overcomplicated (to the point that I couldn't smell the vanilla anymore)! I ordered a sample of Vaniglia del Madagascar as a last hope, determined to swear off trying any more vanilla scents if this one didn't work out. Well, it did. I absolutely, positively am in LOVE. Vaniglia del Madagascar is a creamy, smooth vanilla scent. The opening includes fruity tones (the lemon) but it isn't harsh at all. Within mere minutes it settles and blooms into a crave-inducing vanilla dream - nothing fake here. It's not cloying at all, and not foody... although reminiscent of pure vanilla extract (in a good way). The florals help tone down the vanilla, so it doesn't overwhelm you, but it's definitely a vanilla scent, and not a floral. The sillage is great, not "in your face" but still present. Lasts at least 8 hours (that's just with a few drops of the sample!). I find that in the last couple of hours of the scent, the vanilla gains almost a smoky edge - like a freshly lit bonfire, which I love... but maybe that's just me! True love. Will be purchasing a full bottle as soon as I can afford it. Thanks Luckyscent!

I love it, my husband loves it, he kept asking me if I had ordered it yet as he wanted me to wear it after the sample was gone. Lovely warm skin scent, great staying power which is unusal on me. I am happy I found something to wear for daytime since they stopped making Shalimar Light.

I was never a fan of floral vanillas, but that ended the moment I tried Vaniglia del Madagascar! It is sooo beautiful! The vanilla is sweet and creamy and delicately mingles with soft florals. There's nothing harsh or sharp here. The lemon helps to keep the fragrance from being too sweet, but it's not detectable on its own and does not add any citrusy aspect to this perfume at all. Don't worry, you won't smell like a walking lemondrop! For those of you who have tried Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef and felt that you couldn't appreciate the vanilla because there was just too much going on, then you need to try Vaniglia del Madagascar! Even if you are an Orchidee Vanille fan you should still try Vanigilia del Madagascar because the balance of vanilla and floral notes is flawless! It has excellent lasting power and great sillage, but in a quiet and discreet way. With Orchidee Vanille, the sillage is "in your face" - it definitely won't let you forget you're wearing it. It definitely wouldn't let me forget! It was so loud that I had to keep my arm pressed against my body so that I didn't offend people. On the other hand, Vaniglia del Madagascar has a soft, yet noticeable presence. It is calm and polite rather than loud and obnoxious. I'm so in love with this fragrance and will be making a full bottle purchase soon! Another vanilla love of mine is Indult's Tihota, which is a sweet and sugary vanilla. I'm going to buy a full bottle of that too :o) Thank you luckyscent for the opportunity to try such wonderful and hard-to-find fragrances!

This is such a nice vanilla scent, I really enjoy it ! It is not cloying or foody, on the contrary, the floral and citrus notes give it a very nice touch. It melts onto the skin and I can see it become one of my go-to vanilla scents. It's really well done and one of the best vanilla scents I have tried in a while !

Great perfume! Very good staying power! First I smell the fresh scent hitting really strong, then starts to soften with the joining vanille. Then it becomes a part of your skin, so soft, so hugging...Thanks Luckyscent for sharing the sample, this is going to be my next order. A not-to-miss scent if you prefer a not too overwhelming vanille with a fresh touch.

Its very sweet,but not cheap smelling.It is a lot like Lea,but more potent,and not powdery. I like but probably would not purchase the full size,its just not complex enough,for the price!

Wow, holy grail worthy indeed! This stuff smells really, really good! I would swear there was anise somewhere in this but maybe thats the amber playin tricks on me. To me, this smells nothing like IPdF vanilla. It's cleaner and more sophisticated than that. Longevity is fantastic for a vanilla but why oh why is it so expensive?! Would love to know what it goes for in Italy! I just may cave!
